I know that this is not a big deal to a lot of people but today I set up a wiki account. This is all new to me, so I am learning as I go. There has to be a great number of people out there that are not used to the computer and all the advancements that have come with it. I find it a challenge to try and stay on top of this new technology. It is surprising how much my children know and do on the computer. They seem to have no trouble surfing and establishing web pages, MSN and creating other sites,. My children are only 12 and 14 years old but they are far superior to their dad when it comes to computers.
This ICT course for teachers is one way of staying in touch with my children and their experience on the computer, but it is also a way to learn new techniques and how to use them in an educational setting. This course involves new learning on a daily basis. Also, it is a hands on learning which for me is a great way to learn. Looking forward to other experiences as we move along in the course.

Wikis are great! Way to go.
I know what you mean about the kids. Kids of that age problably don’t remember a time when there were no computers or video games. The see the world much differently. They also seem to adapt to changes in technoloogy very readily and are at ease with the tools. It is up to us to direct them so it is important to have a good grasp of the concepts and practices of the web.
You seem to be catching on very quickly Tom.
Wiki… my sister’s nickname is Wicky. She couldn’t say Piggy Wiggy, it was Picky Wicky, and the name has stuck to this very day. With each new blog I read, I am reminded… Oops, there is something else I have to do or at least ponder.
